Cuttlefish casting is a traditional technique dating back centuries, revered for its intricate process and remarkable results. It begins with the cuttlebone, a porous internal shell found in cuttlefish, which serves as the mold for the casting. The bone is then carefully carved with intricate designs into the soft surface of the cuttlebone, creating a bespoke mold for each piece. Molten metal is then poured into the mold, taking on the intricate details and texture of the cuttlefish bone as it cools and solidifies. The result is a uniquely detailed pendant that celebrates the organic beauty of the ocean and the timeless artistry of craftsmanship.

Due to its nature, each cuttlefish casted pieces is unique and one of a kind - just like a fingerprint, no two cuttlefish casted pieces are exactly alike.

The pendant is made from high-quality, recycled sterling silver and is approximately 20mm x 17mm. Complementing the ocean theme, the pendant features a cast in place Australian teal sapphire of 5mm x 3mm and is proudly set from a statement 37cm paperclip toggle necklace - a perfect contrast to the organic and natural aesthetic of the piece.
